Let's Get the Show on the Road
Welcome Back!
I just wanted to give a little update to announce I will be starting to work on my Cambridge Portfolio project! I am absolutely over the moon as film has always been such a passion of mine as I talked about in my first post! This upcoming project will consist of creating about a two-minute long film introduction, which I am beyond excited about because in case you don't know by now I LOVE CINEMA!!!!!! It will consist of so so much (which I will discuss as we go along) and I know it will get stressful at times but I already have high expectations for myself and cannot wait to see the finished project.
When it comes to initial planning, I am not exactly sure where I want to start as I have never done something like this before. My past experience for something of this style really only consists of my previous projects done in this class such as my "One Word Film" project, my "Foley Soundscape" project, and my "Music Marketing" project (which went super well btw!). However, I plan on taking all of my information learned into consideration in addition to researching so much more before I officially start my process for this project. There is so much that I would want to accomplish in my first film intro but I know I have to take it one step at a time, I just hope I don't let myself down. My group will consist of Isa Gonzalez and Clara De Luca again which I am so happy about! I really liked working with them on our Music Marketing project because I feel that we all worked really well together and we all are able to contribute something different.
With this introduction I want to leave viewers wanting more. If this were to be a real film (hopefully one day!) I would want the audience to be on the edge of their seat, anticipating whatever comes next. The first thing I will most likely be doing is researching already existing film introductions to gather inspiration. I will review ones I've already seen and watch new ones as well. I'll take note of different techniques they use along with how they successfully set up their story. Over the next few days, I am going to start brainstorming ideas that I think would make a good, successful film. Once I come up with an idea, I will figure out which genre I feel that it would fit best in and make adaptations as needed in order to fit certain genre conventions. Once I land on an idea that I like the most, I will hone in on it to finalize and perfect this concept. I am really excited to direct, produce, and act in another project and I cannot wait to see everything that I learn!
As of right now, I have no idea what this film would be about, however, I will take you guys every step of the way as I begin to figure out the logistics of this for myself. I will leave you right now with some of my initial goals right off the bat but keep in mind, things may be subject to change and I conform to a more stable concept:
- I want this to be as artistically appealing as possible
- I want the audience's jaw to DROP (hopefully)
- I really want to incorporate an alluring setting and wardrobe
- I want there to be a strong emphasis on composition, angles, coloring, and possibly sound
More to come,
Liv <3
(week 1: 2/7-2/13)
