Well, That's Showbiz...
Hello!!!!!!
Alright, first official blog of my Cambridge Portfolio project! I will warn you right now, this will most likely just be me writing out loud as I gather myself preparing for what to do next. Although it hasn't been long since my last blog post, a lot did change. I was planning on working with my friends that I worked on my Music Marketing project with however, that is no longer the case. All is well though! Everything is fine! In this industry, NOTHING goes as planned 100% of the time and since this is what I want to do, I have to get used to not everything working in my favor because the show must go on! I am now working only with Clara and we know have to start from scratch. We did not have much to begin with, so I might just be spitballing but I am taking you with me!
The issue with me is I am very picky when it comes to this sort of thing... making decisions (hey, it's not my fault I want everything to be perfect). As someone who loves good. cinematography. as much as I do, I would absolutely love to be able to create this sophisticated, cinematically beautiful, piece where it is clear to see how much thought I put into it. However, it would also be so extremely rewarding to be able to build a strong comedy; something light and easy to watch that would be able to become a fan favorite. I know what you're thinking, polar opposites. But, opposites attract and I think I might be able to get the best of both worlds.
Genres, Genres, and More Genres...
While researching genres, I truly feel like a kid in a candy store, there are so many options but very few realities. I started by visiting good old IMDb to see how some popular film genres are typically categorized. You can take a look at what I was studying right here!I began researching popular movies genres and noticed the fluctuation in popularity between the various categories of film styles over the decades.
